I'v the following picture in mind. Bernie Sanders in Europe, say Germany, he helds a speech.
"I demand health care for all!"
Someone behind him tips on his shoulder.
"Sorry, Bernie. This is Europe, this is Germany, we have this here since a very long time."
"Okay, but I demand paid sick leave as well."
"Sorry, Bernie. This is Europe, this is Germany, we have this here since a very long time."
"Okay, but I even demand lower drug prices."
"Sorry, Bernie. This is Europe, this is Germany, we have this here since a very long time."
Okay, obviously I could continue with this.

Well, not every European country is the same, but to talk about Bernie Sanders, what would be his party in Germany. The "SPD" maybe, but in no way the left-wing of it. Perhaps "Die Grünen", to talk about climate change? "Die Linke" in no case, he wouldn't be left-wing enough for them! Sahara Wagenknecht in the USA? I think that she's a hypocrite, to be nice here, but this I would enjoy. I think that would be the ultimate shock for conservative America, Mitch would get a heart attack would she held a speech in Congress, AOC would suddenly appear like the charming girl from next door.
Radical ideas, it depends very much on in what a country you live. It can be radical to say that women should have a right to vote, or for education. It can be even extremely radical to wish, to have elections at all. And so, the funny matter is, that Bernie Sanders has maybe for the USA a radical agenda. But would he be suddenly a European, German, politician, than he would have the problem, that the most of his agenda would be no longer because his demands would be reality for a long time now. Doesn't this tell you a lot about the US?
